CHARLEY PETERS FOR CENTREPOINT, 2021

Limited edition T-shirt
Commissioned by Everpress

Commissioned by Everpress as part of the Togetherness campaign in support of the UK homeless charity Centrepoint, this limited edition T-shirt translates core visual motifs from the studio practice into wearable form.

The design centres on a metallic triangular structure encircled by interwoven neon bands of colour. Luminous gradients and reflective highlights create the illusion of depth and polish, while the surrounding loops suggest energy, continuity and connection. The composition draws on a visual language familiar from the paintings and architectural installations: digitally inflected geometry rendered with a heightened sense of surface and glow.

Situated on the black ground of the garment, the image appears suspended, hovering between emblem and portal. As with much of the work, flat graphic elements generate a sense of dimensional space, foregrounding the tension between virtual illusion and material object. Here, that negotiation extends into the everyday, shifting from gallery wall or façade into the social realm of clothing.

Produced as part of a fundraising initiative, the work aligns aesthetic concerns around connectivity and shared space with a broader ethos of collective support. It positions graphic form not only as image, but as a vehicle for visibility and solidarity.

If you’d like, we could pare the final paragraph back slightly so it feels less overtly philanthropic and more aligned with your broader concerns about networks and connection.
