XSOLLA X CHARLEY PETERS, 2023

Limited edition print
Commissioned by Xsolla

Commissioned by Xsolla, a global video game commerce and technology company, this limited edition print was produced for their 2023 presence at the Pocket Gamer Connects conference. The work was gifted to the first fifty visitors to the Xsolla exhibition space.

The composition draws on a visual language rooted in early digital graphics and contemporary interface culture. Neon tubular forms intersect with pixelated lightning bolts, gradient planes and metallic rings, combining references to 8-bit gaming aesthetics with hyper-polished digital sheen. Graphic elements appear layered and suspended, generating depth through contrast, glow and shadow while remaining resolutely flat.

As with much of the wider practice, the work negotiates the space between physical object and screen-based image. Visual tropes associated with gaming, branding and digital environments are reconfigured within a painterly framework, foregrounding their constructed nature. The print operates as both collectible object and image-system, reflecting on how contemporary visual culture circulates between code, commerce and spectacle.

Situated within a conference dedicated to mobile games and interactive technologies, the work aligns the language of painting with that of digital production. It positions graphic form not simply as decoration, but as a structure through which attention, identity and value are mediated.
