POWER UP! 2022

Power Up! is a large-scale public artwork commissioned for Wembley Park as part of the Figures of Change trail for International Women’s Day 2022. Installed across a central stairway, the work transforms a transitional architectural space into a dynamic field of colour and movement.

Spanning multiple flights of steps, the composition unfolds as a rising spectrum of saturated hues and graphic forms. Stars, gradients and directional motifs animate the surface, suggesting collective momentum and shared ascent. The imagery represents a multitude of women’s voices, not as a singular narrative but as an accumulation of energy, difference and force.

Through the application of vinyl directly onto concrete, a functional urban surface is reimagined as a site of visibility and affirmation. The work operates both symbolically and physically: it is climbed, crossed and experienced in motion, reinforcing its central proposition of empowerment through collective progression.
